What is the SCC?
The Scientific Consulting Committee is the scientific advising body of the Carso Health Institute (CHI) in charge of providing assistance to the implementation of the “Institutional Strengthening” platform of actions through the contributions of each of its members in terms of definition of priority lines of support, identification and selection of projects as well as of candidates eligible for support through the Research and Development Investment Fund and other programs of this platform.
An important activity of the SCC members will be to provide advice to other platforms and strategies of the CHI according to their field of expertise.
The members of the SCC will participate in the selection processes of different scholarships, fellowships and awards promoted by the CHI through the Division of Social Investment.
The SCC will be formed by outstanding experts in the areas of health and social related disciplines and will be selected according to their professional career and knowledge of the specific subjects of interest of the CHI.
All members of the SCC shall be Mexicans and residents of Mexico.

- Dr. Francisco Bolivar Zapata. Professor and researcher of the Institute of Biotechnology of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
- Dr. Carlos Elizondo Mayer, Professor and researcher of the Center of Economic Research and Education.
- Dr. Adolfo Martínez Palomo. General Director of Health Policy Research at the General Coordination of the National Institutes of Health of the Ministry of Health.
- Dr. María Elena Medina Mora. Director of Epidemiological and Psychosocial Research of the National Institute of Psychiatry Ramón de la Fuente.
- Dr. Julio Sotelo Morales. Commissioner of the National Institutes of Health and Third Level Hospitals Coordination of the Ministry of Health of Mexico.
- Dr. Juan Rivera Dommarco. Deputy Director of the Nutrition and Health Research Center of the National Institute of Public Health.
- Dr. Guillermo Ruiz Palacios. Head of the Department of Infectology of the Salvador Zubirán National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition.
